The Honor Magic V6. Right now in Europe, it costs €1,700. But only until the end of this month. After that? €2,300. So what looks cheap today will suddenly become 600 euros more expensive next month. And in the middle of all this, the company is throwing in a free Honor Pad 10, plus two years of screen protection. Now here’s the question worth asking — when a company is giving away so much “for free,” what’s the real price of this phone actually meant to be?
The company ran a survey — asked people whether they’d buy it or not. The result? Almost a dead split. On one side, 25.3% said, “Yes, we’ll buy it at this price.” On the other, 25.5% said, “No, we’ll wait for a discount.” So the public is divided right down the middle. And the rest? They don’t want a foldable at all — or don’t want one from this company.
This isn’t the only player in the market either. Oppo has its Find N6, vivo has the X Fold 6, Motorola has the Razr Fold in the ring too. And Samsung — whose name nobody even mentioned in this survey — is bringing out its Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra this very month.
And even for those who do have the money, there’s trouble — Europe only got the 512GB version, not the 1TB one. In several markets, the phone hasn’t even arrived yet, even though the company already has a presence there.
So the real question is — is this actually a “discount,” or just a marketing tactic designed to make people buy quickly, using the fear of a coming price hike?
