Yesterday, a rumor told us that Samsung is testing a new main camera sensor for the upcoming Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+. It also repeated something we’d heard before — that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will carry a 50MP ultrawide camera.
Today, a fresh rumor confirms that 50MP ultrawide claim once again, and adds a new detail — it will use Sony’s IMX855 sensor, a 1/2.55-inch type. The S27 Pro and S27 Ultra are said to share one zoom camera, while the Ultra is now rumored to get a second one. That matches the setup of its predecessors — though earlier rumors had claimed there would be three cameras in total, with only one being a telephoto.
Which raises a fair question — when the story keeps shifting from leak to leak, how much of this can a consumer actually take at face value?
What Will Actually Separate the Pro from the Ultra?
If this turns out to be true, the second telephoto camera will be one of the real differences between the S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. The other difference being floated is the Pro’s rumored lack of an S Pen.
As for selfie cameras, both the Pro and Ultra are said to get a 16MP camera with autofocus — and the Pro’s front camera might even come with OIS.
